David Watson
David is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde in Electrical Power Engineering and served his Graduate Traineeship with Balfour Kilpatrick of Paisley, the international electrical contractor, gaining experience on the installation and commissioning of major new industrial projects in newspaper printing, paper mills and chipboard manufacturing, becoming a Chartered Engineer at the age of 31. His only other employer has been Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd, one of the world's largest design and construction management companies in the fields of petrochemical, pharmaceutical engineering and which, in the heyday of steamship propulsion, could lay claim to providing boilers for 75% of the world's commercial shipping.

Always Glasgow based, David's career took him into the project management of multi million pound  energy and pharmaceutical  related projects for international clients and household names across the world including Russia, Iran and many EU nations.  He was also a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering and has published articles in it's technical magazine "Pharmaceutical Engineering".

He recently retired having been the Manager of Projects and the Senior Project Manager in the Glasgow Operations of Foster Wheeler.

Iain MacLeod
Iain MacLeod graduated BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow.  He worked in practice with Crouch and Hogg (now part of the Halcrow Group) on the design of heavy engineering structures and later with HA Simons in Vancouver Canada on the design of pulp and paper mills.  He also held a design research post with the Portland Cement Association in Illinois, USA.  He held the post of Lecturer at the University of Glasgow and in the 1970s was Head of Department of Civil Engineering at Paisley College of Technology (now the University of West of Scotland)   Up to his retirement in 2004,  he was Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.  His research interests include design of buildings,  use of information technology in design, analysis modelling process, design process and learning strategies.
